1)      Overwhelmingly change the lives of EVERY person you encounter…no one is left hanging. You will find tough cases, tough people, tough personalities, difficult situations.  It is up to YOU to grow/change and overcome to find the successful path.  Not entirely on them.   This is a relationship. They must adhere to the program but it is up to you to make that happen.  Knowledge does not necessarily change behavior; therefore this is not merely about demonstrating exercises and counting reps.

2)      Empower them to feel as they can do ANYTHING they set their mind too and let them know that with YOU they are invincible.

3)      Deliver on that.  Be reliable.  Believe this yourself with 100% conviction. Become a miracle worker.  Nothing can stop you.  Believe this and nothing will stop you.  When you find a barrier with this mindset, you will always find a solution.

4)      Be positive, motivating, energetic, and focused no matter how tired you are or what is going on in your life.  The second you and your issues become more important than theirs, you have failed them….and you failed your mission (being a successful trainer with a full schedule and people waiting in line to work with you…)

5)      Be in AMAZING shape.  You are in expert in health and fitness…so look it, be it, live it.  Don’t be a hypocrite.  You immediately lose faith and trust the second you are anything less than amazing.  Lean, strong, capable…

6)      Be able to steer their mood and attitude into a positive, winning, focused force.  Lemons into lemonade everyday…this is the best day of your and their lives…and the best hour of their day.    You are their crack, you must enrich their lives every second you are in their presence…how do you do this?  See the above steps.

7)      There is NO failure when you learn from the mistake.  Everyone is still an individual science project.  You are learning about them and they about themselves.  Adjustments will have to be made to the course and exact path, but ultimately you are relentless in your pursuit to get them there.  You will run through walls and tear down every barrier in your path to get them there.  You must know them more than themselves and be able to predict behavior and beat them to the punch when you see something going the wrong direction, then adjust the steering wheel and keep them on course.  It is YOUR problem when they turn into negative head cases.  You must NOT give up in desperation.  You must have EXTREME patience and learn to ‘deflect’ and work with their issues (and when they ask the same question for the 100th time, care for them enough to answer it without an attitude).  And ultimately turn them back to the focus required.  We all have bad days, but with YOU anything is possible.  You get them through the worst of the worst, you are their back bone.  You refresh them.  You remind them that they are capable.  That when they step up and focus they CAN do anything when you put the work in.
