This may upset a few of you or go against what your expert has been telling you. But,it kills me to see the frustration in lifters as they are perplexed by the mysteries of their misses and why they may be happening. They seldom accept the fact that it is something as simple as their set up and start position.
Earth to frustrated lifter: THERE IS SLACK IN YOUR START POSITION. NOT ONLY ARE YOU NOT IN POSITION TO DO THE LIFT, BUT IT GETS WORSE THE SECOND YOU PULL OFF THE FLOOR…DON’T LOOK FOR YOUR PROBLEMS IN YOUR BAR PATH, 2ND PULL, FINISH, ETC UNTIL YOU HAVE THIS FIGURED OUT. THE REST IS SIMPLY A REACTION OR COMPENSATION TO A BAD POSITION OFF THE FLOOR. ONCE THAT IS SQUARED AWAY, WE CAN TALK ABOUT THE REST. I’m done yelling now.
